Insertion Help

The “Insertion Aid” function makes it easier to insert and fix your feet on the pedals before starting the workout. A button on the control unit allows the user to move the pedals to the appropriate position.

Motion protection

If muscle cramp, spasticity, or freezing occurs during training, this function stops pedal movement. It doesn't matter that the basic tension of the muscles changes; Movement protection does not remain constant, but adapts automatically to each change. This function is implemented in all MOTOmed models by a system of sensitive sensors.

Spasticity Relaxation Program

This feature works in conjunction with motion protection and can loosen and release recognized spasms or cramps. The basis for developing such a function is the following therapeutic principle: flexion spasticity is loosened by stretching, and stretching spasticity is loosened by flexion. The automatic change of direction of the spasticity loosening program can loosen the cramps detected by the movement protection. If a cramp occurs, the motor smoothly stops the crank movement. The legs or arms are relieved and, after a rest phase, the direction of rotation is gently changed. This process is repeated until the cramp is relieved.

Pedal Servo

The MOTOmed ServoPedaleo function supports the user in carrying out their active movement, in a similar way that the rider of an electric bicycle is supported by the electric motor. In this way you can train actively and in this way the minimal residual muscle forces can be recognized and strengthened without excessive effort.

Symmetry training

The function of symmetry training unfolds its beneficial effect when it comes to strengthening the weaker side specifically. The function display differs depending on the model.

Training analysis

All MOTOmed models provide the user with a variety of training analysis. Training values, such as duration, distance, symmetry, tone, active, average and maximum power, as well as the ratio of active and passive training, can be read on the screen by the user both in real time during the training as well as in the form of a total evaluation after the training.
