Portable Coagulometer Test Strips - TP/INR Monitoring System (12 units)

Mission® PT/INR Test Strips are designed for use with the Mission® PT/INR Monitoring System to monitor blood clotting time in patients stabilized on coumarin-type anticoagulation therapies (eg, warfarin).

Mission® PT/INR test strips use fresh capillary whole blood or venous whole blood samples without anticoagulants. Results are expressed in units of both prothrombin time and INR. For in vitro diagnostic use only. This device is not designed for screening purposes. For self-diagnosis and professional uses.

Instructions for use:

1. Insert the code chip that comes in the PT/INR Mission® test strip box into the PT/INR Mission® meter as directed in the user manual.
2. Open an individual foil package; remove the test strip. Note: Before opening the individual foil pack of test strips, check the expiration date on the test strip. Do not use it if it has expired.
3. Insert the test strip into the meter. The meter will automatically turn on and beep if sound is enabled. The meter will then go through a warm-up cycle. Check that the code number displayed matches the number on the box of strips. Select “Blood” for a blood sample, “EC Tst” for an electronic control test, or “CS Tst” for a control solution sample. When the “ADD SPECIMEN” icon appears on the meter, prepare to take the sample.
4. Take the blood sample and apply it to the Mission® PT/INR Test Strip according to the instructions in the user manual. All white circle
center of the application area should be filled with a drop of blood. If the sample well is only partially covered, repeat the test with a new strip.
5. Follow the message displayed to close the optics cover. The optics cover must be closed within 20 seconds of applying the sample to the test strip.
6. The PT/INR meter will test for 2 minutes and beep when finished if beep is enabled. Once finished, the meter will display the final INR value and the prothrombin time if INR+PT is selected. Remove and discard the test strip. The meter will store the INR value in memory along with the date and time.
7. Carefully dispose of any material that has come into contact with blood in accordance with appropriate biohazard control standards.
