Description
The Eutony trunk is a proprioceptive method for treating perineal muscles and pelvic floor dysfunctions through posture . The foot is used as a pathway for receiving information, allowing for subtle postural adjustments that engage the perineal muscle fibers , activating and strengthening them.
This method also treats the abdominal muscles and rebalances muscle tension throughout the body, primarily in the diaphragm and pelvic floor muscles. It promotes the stimulation of the flexion contracture and, therefore, the management of thoracoabdominal pressures.
Outlet : Small aesthetic crack in the wood.
What type of patients is it indicated for, and what pelvic floor dysfunctions can be improved using the Method?
Suitable for all types of patients, both women and men, this method is entirely complementary to other rehabilitation techniques. It is indicated for urinary incontinence, anal incontinence, perineal hypotonia and hypertonia, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginismus, constipation, post-prostatectomy patients, pelvic myofascial syndrome, and more.
Are there any contraindications to doing this type of proprioceptive exercise?
None, in some cases knee or ankle problems due to the difficulty of the exercise but not because it is counterproductive for the patient.
How long and how many times per week can it be done?
We don't have precise protocols because, being a proprioceptive method, the more you do it, the more benefits you get. It consists of three exercises, and only the last one, which should be done for 5 minutes—no more because it fatigues the muscle—should be done for at least 20 minutes for the first two to start feeling any change.
But the longer the better, I repeat, it's a proprioceptive exercise.
Is it possible to use the trunk in the comfort of the patient's own home?
This involves the patient taking the trunk home so they can carry out self-re-education and maintain and enhance the benefits of the other techniques we use in consultation, in addition to the benefits obtained using the method itself.
