Standing frame and gait simulator with IOP support for adults with lower limb paralysis

The adult gait simulator (dimensions: 135 x 95 x 71 cm, maximum load weight: 36 kg) has been designed for people who suffer from weakness or lack of movement in the lower extremities (paraplegia) and is used for the purpose of to carry out rehabilitation exercises in an upright position . The patient, by actively moving the upper extremities, also stimulates the movement of the lower extremities. In addition, this device provides support to maintain body position, allowing full and coordinated movement of the entire body. The hip, knee and ankle joints work alternately and actively. Likewise, movements of the arms are carried out through the use of the shoulders and a twist of the torso is carried out to stimulate physical activity.

How does it work

The patient exercises the lower extremities synchronously with the levers moved by the hands through a special mechanism.

The PIO device stabilizes the patient in the correct position. Provides the important weight necessary for proper movement of the hips, knees, and tarsal joints that promotes synchronized movements that simulate natural gait.

It combines the passive exercise of the lower limbs with the active exercise of the upper limbs and the body with the almost natural load placed on the muscular and skeletal system.
