Who is it aimed at?
Designed for healthcare professionals (family doctors, endocrinologists, radiologists, surgeons, radiodiagnostic technicians and specialized nursing staff) who seek to acquire or improve their clinical and diagnostic skills in cervical ultrasound with an eminently practical, rigorous and structured approach.
Program Objectives
The course aims to help students achieve the following:
Mastering cervical ultrasound semiology, accurately identifying normal anatomical structures and pathological patterns.
Optimize the use of ultrasound equipment and the configuration of specific parameters for the neck and thyroid region.
Integrating ultrasound into clinical decision-making and differential diagnosis through the simulation of real medical scenarios.
Key Features and Interactive Simulator
The training program stands out for its virtual environment developed through CAMPUS WAZO®, which faithfully replicates the real-world clinical setting, allowing for unlimited and progressive training. It includes high-impact tools:
Specialized training by region : Complete coverage of the anatomy of the suprahyoid and infrahyoid neck.
Standardized ultrasound approaches : Step-by-step guides for the correct execution of systematic exploration protocols.
Comparative anatomical atlas : Interactive visualization to contrast normal anatomy against different pathological manifestations.
Library of real clinical cases : Resolution of interactive and simulated practical scenarios representative of daily clinical practice.
Integrated WAZO® AI Assistant: Artificial intelligence integrated into the platform to guide, answer questions, and optimize student learning.
Syllabus and Clinical Training Areas
The course provides a practical approach to the systematic examination of cervical structures and the identification of inflammatory, tumorous, and developmental pathologies. It is divided into two main sections:
Topic 1 : Physical Bases and Fundamentals of Ultrasound
Physical principles of sound, formation of the ultrasound image, use and components of the equipment.
Ultrasound modes (B-mode, color Doppler and pulsed Doppler), identification of artifacts and optimization of image calibration in surface structures.
Topic 2 : Cervical Ultrasound (Clinical Training by Pathologies)
Systematic exploration, anatomical bases and protocols guided by interactive clinical simulation in:
Thyroid Pathology : Detailed evaluation of thyroid nodules, thyroiditis, and Graves' disease.
Cervical Lymphadenopathy : Detection and characterization of normal, inflammatory, and tumorous or metastatic lymph nodes.
Salivary Glands : Assessment of associated pathologies such as submaxillitis and common tumors (Warthin's tumor and pleomorphic adenoma).
Cervical Vascular Pathology : Identification of jugular thrombosis and characterization of carotid plaques.
Developmental Disorders : Ultrasound study of thyroglossal cyst, ectopic thyroid and hemiagenesis.
Soft Tissue and Parathyroid Injuries : Examination for lipomas, cervical cysts and parathyroid gland abnormalities.
Methodology and Evaluation
Methodology : 100% online and self-managed, based on a progressive learning model that combines interactive theory, structured practical training with the virtual simulator and iterative analysis of real clinical cases.
Evaluation : Carried out continuously through structured knowledge questionnaires and gamified practical exams within the virtual simulator itself, guaranteeing exhaustive monitoring of the skill acquired by the student.
