Description

Ideal syringe for anesthesia. Injects without a needle, without pain, without contact. Made of stainless steel

Composition:

It comes in the form of a cylinder that is separated into four elements.

a) A fully metallic syringe body comprising a small diameter central piston, its spring and its lever.

b) An injection head , provided with a valve that retains the liquid when the apparatus is assembled, and pierced at the lower end with a small hole with a diameter of 2/10 mm.

c) A transparent cylinder that serves as a reservoir for the liquid to be injected. It has a capacity of 4 cm3.

d) A fitting cap to secure the end cap and the barrel onto the syringe body. The total weight is approximately 300 grams.

Operation:

To introduce the liquid, when refilling, the cap is unscrewed and the reservoir is refilled. The adjustment cap is reset and tightened. The reservoir communicates with a small cylinder in which the pressure is put under pressure by the piston. The mechanical device automatically draws a small quantity of liquid: this is 1/10 ml. It is armed by lowering the lever. When armed, the device must be held vertically. A trigger located on the top of the device is pressed with the thumb. This trigger releases the piston at the required moment. The liquid, strongly compressed, passes through the capillary orifice. The pressure exerted is approximately 100 kg/cm2. The very fine jet pierces the skin and instantly produces a large characteristic papule. At the top of this, a small narrowness can be seen at the point where the liquid has penetrated the skin.

Injection Technique:

The head of the device can be either in contact with the skin or a few centimetres away. The depth of the injection depends on the distance of the device and its inclination in relation to the skin surface. After a simple push with the thumb, the injection has been made, it is enough to re-arm the “DERMO JET” by simply lowering the lever. Forty injections can then be carried out in a very short period of time. As a further precaution, it should be noted that the device must be primed after refilling by operating the arming lever five or six times in a row, keeping the top button pressed (device held vertically). In human medicine, variations in penetration depth depend on the injection site, the distance and the angle of injection in relation to the skin surface. Taking these different factors into account, the technique varies according to the required objective. The variation in the inclination of the device in relation to the skin surface and the joint adjustment of penetration allow the superficial or deep dermis, as well as the underlying tissues, to be reached with precision.

Sterilization:

Sterilization of the device is simple: just remove the cap and take out the injection head and its tank: you can then empty and clean the whole unit completely. Sterilization can be done either in an oven or by boiling, immersing the device in boiling water for about twenty minutes. It is best to use distilled water for this, as the presence of mineral salts could cause the capillary orifice to become blocked. It can also be sterilized in an autoclave or in other ways.

Careful:

1. Rinse the tank with alcohol once a week

2. Do not leave the anesthetic on for more than 2 or 3 days to prevent it from decomposing. The brown residue that can be seen is not rust, but a product of the anesthetic's decomposition. It can be easily removed by drying.

3. Change gasket n°6 after 6000 injections. Make sure that the widened part and washer 16 face upwards (i.e. towards the side opposite the gasket).
