Physio Scenar: Non-invasive neuromodulation and neural physiotherapy system

This therapeutic application derives from the neuromodulation criteria used in invasive physiotherapy, but with the main difference being the non-invasive application of a type of electrostimulation as specific and subtle as SCENAR.

Although it could also be considered as a form of neural therapy, in the sense of modulating nerve fibers, there are two differentiating characteristics such as technique and teaching:

• It contemplates the local action on the fibers of the nervous tissue and the neurophysiological restorative effect. This supposes the treatment of the nervous tissue considered as network .
• It is applied topically to afferent sensory nerve points and efferent motor nerve points. Therefore, neurovegetative action is not primarily sought as is done in neural therapy.

The application method is aimed at locating these nerve points, which we call cutaneous windows, based on peripheral neuroanatomy of the extremities and plexuses (cervicobrachial and lumbosacral), and applying specific stimulation parameters on them. These points or cutaneous windows do not have to correspond properly with the symptomatological zones or with the zones of functional neuro-regulation. Stimulation in these windows is capable of producing immediate effects in the resolution of common and common musculoskeletal pathologies.

SCENAR is not simply a piece of equipment, but a therapeutic technique that is performed with that device. The customer who purchases this device receives at home the equipment, manuals and videos in a brief basic training on handling and first steps with the device. This basic training will be completed with the '' SCENAR Physio management training course ''. This face-to-face training course is carried out in Madrid for a reduced number of two-three physiotherapists, in a full day, which allows going and coming back in the day. The course lasts approximately 6-7 hours.

The driving training course enables you to apply Scenar technology fluently in physiotherapy. And it opens the door for the physiotherapist to later have access to a specialization in Neuroadaptative Physiotherapy SCENAR, which can be done continuously.

The device incorporates in its housing a flat coaxial electrode that handles by sliding and positioning on the skin to detect the points or zones of trophic alteration or related to lesions or pathologies of direct projection on the skin or neuro-reflex. Once located, they are treated with the same electrode.

Is Scenar Therapy Invasive?

No. It is a type of neurostimulation applied to the skin.

Is it a painful therapy?

No. The electromagnetic stimuli applied to the skin are not annoying and are regulated at a comfortable level.

When is the application time required?

The application time can vary between 5 min and 45 min depending on the area and case to be treated.

How many sessions are necessary?

From the first session the pain reduction is appreciated. In acute cases it can be applied daily for 5 days. In chronic cases, up to 10 sessions are applied with intervals of 2-7 days.

What is the difference between scenar and conventional electrotherapy?

Conventional electrotherapy uses electrical impulses to produce a specific effect. Scenar therapy produces electromagnetic impulses that act as neurosimilar stimuli on nerve fibers in the dermis. Once the impulse is generated, it is automatically transmitted through the nervous network in the form of a biological wave.

How is this technique handled?

It is a portable device, the size of a remote control. It incorporates a coaxial surface electrode and a screen that we see at all times. It is used in continuous stimulation mode or through DIAGNOSTIC mode. The latter makes it possible to search for altered points and areas in the dermis due to their variation in electrical capacitance. This variation occurs in injured, inflamed and painful areas or in reflex areas of a distant functional alteration. So even when there is no injury or pain, we can locate areas or points referred to dysfunction. Once we locate those specific points that attract attention, we can assess the adaptive response of the nervous system at the point. This characteristic, unique to SCENAR, is possible because the device measures capacitance changes at all times as an indicator of the efferent response and progressively changes the shape of the impulse to avoid accommodation. The biofeedback process continues until the efferent system no longer varies the capacitance at the point and the neural information of the alteration is modified.

For what purpose was this technique designed?

It was designed thinking about avoiding the administration of drugs and stimulating the body's own biochemical cascades involved in the healing processes. If all the signals that initiate the biochemical cascades are based on bioelectric orders, how can we generate these kinds of orders externally? That was the development premise.

Is scenar therapy palliative or curative?

What scenar therapy does is stimulate or reactivate cascades of information in the person involved in the processes of analgesia, regeneration and recovery. Therefore, it is not a palliative therapy, but rather a technique for accelerating the processes of rebalancing and repairing the body itself.
