Description
The Eutony Core is a proprioceptive method for treating perineal muscles and pelvic floor dysfunctions through posture . The foot is used as an input pathway for small postural adjustments , engaging the perineal tonic fibers , allowing them to awaken and tone simultaneously.
This method also treats the abdominal muscles and rebalances muscular tension throughout the body, primarily the diaphragm and pelvic floor muscles. It is a method that stimulates the abdominal chain and thus manages thoracoabdominal pressure.
What types of patients is it indicated for and what pelvic floor dysfunctions can be improved by the Method?
For all types of patients, both women and men, it is a completely complementary method to other rehabilitation techniques. It is indicated for urinary incontinence, anal incontinence, perineal hypotonia and hypertonia, pelvic prolapse, vaginismus, constipation, prostatectomy patients, pelvic myofascial syndrome, and more.
Are there any contraindications to doing this type of proprioceptive practice?
None, in some cases knee or ankle problems due to the difficulty of the exercise but not because it is counterproductive for the patient.
How long and how many times a week can it be done?
We don't have precise protocols because, as it's a proprioceptive method, the more you do it, the more benefits you gain. It consists of three exercises, and only the last one, which should be done for 5 minutes—no more because it tires the muscles—takes at least 20 minutes to begin to feel any change.
But the longer the better, I repeat, it is a proprioceptive exercise.
Is it possible to use the trunk in the comfort of the patient's own home?
That's what it consists of, the patient taking the trunk home so that he can carry out self-re-education and preserve and enhance the benefits of the other techniques we use in consultation apart from the benefits obtained by using the method itself.
